#RememberJan29
"6 lives were lost because they were Muslim"... three years ago...
This has been retweeted and shared on multiple platforms of social media today - wherever and by whomever does remember the incident which occurred in North America... Canada... province of Quebec... on a 29th of January indeed.
It is a message worth sharing, of course - we do not want terrorism. We do not want white supremacists killing people. We do not want any sort of ideology to lead to such heinous acts.
But while sharing this is laudable and all - I have not done so.
For I would not be able to without adding... this: remember, also, the countless lives that were lost since then - because they were Christian.
Absolutely no one - from what I saw on Twitter and elsewhere on the net - has thought of that...
Here's a clue, a wake-up call and a reality check: much more than six...
And they were killed in the most savage ways, too: sometimes bludgeoned to death, sometimes beheaded alive... These Christians were killed by the extremist form that the Islamic faith takes - the worst of Muslims... But also the most indoctrinated of Muslims; one might say... the most believing.
That "rememberJan29" hashtag was seen often accompanied by another hashtag: #EndIslamophobia
Well, how about #EndChristianPersecutionByIslam - also?
The Christian Faith is the most persecuted of all faith son the world - and it is being persecuted by Islam - and no one else.
Six lives... versus something like six million lives now, probably...
That is not equal proportion for commemoration.
