There is this new craze going on now, on the wild, wild net today - it is called Pop Craze! Crave? Go for the Crave then! The more it changes, the more it stays the same, mind you: it is simply the exact same slightly-misplaced interest in the lives, lifestyles and... well, mostly lives -as in private lives yes- of the rich and shameless! And the only thing that is rather new about it is that it is transmitted to you -the adoring starry-eyed public- via the coziest of all mediums - a Twitter page! Take a look at today's highlight, for example...
Happy Birthday to the gorgeous, talented and phenomenal Jennifer Aniston.
The iconic 'Friends' actress turns 49 today!

Just the exact same stories and updates, see - simply not coming from the old usual suspects anymore (E.T. which no one ever thinks of as an extra-terrestrial mad about long-distance phone calling- not anymore - no, everybody knows it is the perennial mainstay of the genre formerly known as Entertainment Tonight! Or the very few and finite competitors it has in this genre... Access Hollywood! ''Extra'' - the TV show... E!News... And TMZ! They're basically the old National Enquirers and Inquisitors transposed onto and repackaged as cable TV news! ''Tabloid television'' can be a terrible thing... It can be very addictive, too! But that's another story...)
All of these ''news sources'' (on top of the regular news outlets) will simply rehash, over and over again, the exact same news... gossip... so-called news... disguised sales pitches, product placements & advertisements... and more fake news, ad nauseam! Over the years, more and more liberties are taken -e.g. allowed- to let it all seem more genuine; the anchors, men or women, are dropping a few tiny bits of commentary between the cracks, here and there, as they recite their scripts... But it all feels scripted - all of it!
Me? ''Pop Craze'' or whatever it's called makes me long for... miss all the more... and wish for a return of... POP-UP VIDEO! Remember that? No? I can't believe... Really?!? No?!? Here's a refresher then - free of charge... WATCH and learn:
See, now?
Remember, now?
With POP-UP VIDEO, at least,
even though of course
it was all scripted in advance -
it was witty, irreverent...
and oftentimes pure comedic gold!
Try and get that level of wit now,
from the O'Dell and Frazier types!
GOOD LUCK!
